Nikitas Papadopoulos is a mining entrepreneur and the founder of Astra Gold, a junior exploration and development company focused on the strategic development of mineral assets in Brazil. With a background in international business and a strong operational presence in Brazil, he brings a rare combination of field-level execution and strategic vision to the mining sector.
In 2021, Nikitas founded AN Minerals, where he led the identification and acquisition of high-potential gold assets across the Tapajós and Gurupi Belts. Following a period of exploration, investment, and corporate restructuring, he established Astra Gold in 2025 to consolidate the company’s mineral portfolio and advance its projects with a sharper focus and greater operational autonomy.
Nikitas has overseen the investment of over USD $1.4 million into exploration, equipment, and infrastructure. He has personally led field operations, managed complex logistics in remote areas, and negotiated directly with investors, cooperatives, and landowners. His deep familiarity with Brazil’s regulatory landscape, combined with his hands-on leadership style, has positioned Astra Gold for both near-term production and long-term resource development.
Originally from Greece and permanently based in Brazil, Nikitas is fluent in multiple languages and is deeply committed to building lasting value through responsible mining. Beyond his work in the sector, he is a passionate advocate for animal welfare and intends to channel part of Astra Gold’s success toward initiatives that support ethical and sustainable living.
Clovis Maurity is a senior geologist with nearly four decades of experience in mineral exploration, geochemistry, and resource evaluation across Brazil. He holds a Bachelor&’s, Master&’s, and Doctorate in Geosciences from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), with a focus on surface geochemistry, mineralogy, and resource development.
Throughout his career, Clóvis has held key technical and leadership roles in major Brazilian mining projects, including work with CVRD (now Vale) on world-class deposits such as Salobo (Cu-Au), Igarapé Bahia (Au), Serra Pelada (Au), and Sossego (Cu). His experience spans multiple commodities including gold, copper, nickel, manganese, iron, bauxite, potassium, and oil shale. He has worked extensively in Pará’s Carajás region, the Amazon, and southern Brazil.
As a senior consultant with Amazonita Geosciences, Clóvis has led exploration campaigns for both junior and major mining companies, including AN Minerals, where he began supporting Astra Gold’s projects in 2024. His expertise includes geological mapping, drill planning, QA/QC, resource modeling, and technical reporting.
At Astra Gold, Clóvis serves as Exploration Director, overseeing all technical exploration programs in the Tapajós and Gurupi gold belts. His extensive field experience, academic background, and deep knowledge of Brazil’s geology provide Astra Gold with a strong technical foundation for both early-stage discovery and resource development.
